Syntax staff and clients came together for a nail-biting night of cheering on the England football team against Algeria recently at the Slug & Lettuce in Derby.

Despite the disappointing result, the evening was a great opportunity to meet in a relaxed atmosphere and share a common love for the nation’s favourite sport.

Syntax Managing Director Roger Frost said: “It was a great evening and perhaps the England back room staff would do well to learn some lessons from the Syntax team who did an excellent job in organising this event and ensuring that everything (except the result) went smoothly!”

The event included a hog roast, buffet and open bar set in a private VIP area with two widescreen televisions.

Bob Hunt of Star Micronics in Melbourne added: “I would like to thank Syntax for a most enjoyable evening. We thought the food was outstanding, just a shame about the quality of the football!
“The most memorable part of the evening for us was the very warm welcome by all the Syntax staff. They made the evening for us with their friendliness and attention to detail.”

The event was organised by Hannah Dimond and Sarah Wells who commented: “We were really pleased with the way the event turned out, there was a great mix of people and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves; the hard work certainly paid off.”
