Syntax Consultancy has made two new appointments as part of a company-wide expansion.

Syntax currently employs 43 people and aims to grow the company to 50 staff by the end of this year due to key client gains.

Gwilym Walker has joined the Engineering and Technical recruitment division as an Account Manager and Azra Akhtar has joined as a recruitment consultant for the Digital Recruitment division.

Gwilym Walker (30), who is a former British kickboxing champion, has worked in recruitment for five years having previously worked in customer service and the fitness industry. He has joined Syntax as Account Manager, working with Blue Chip companies to resource technical and engineering staff.

Azra Akhtar (28) combined studying for a degree in medicine with telesales and has joined Syntax to progress her love of sales and customer service; specialising in digital media recruitment.

Syntax Managing Director Roger Frost concluded: “We have grown the business by 20% in the past year and, with new business gains throughout the company, are in the process of expanding our workforce in Derby and London, both in the short and medium term.

“These are key appointments for Syntax throughout the divisions – expanding the existing expertise with new skills and experience to meet our current requirements and to further grow the business.”
