Continued Success for Syntax’s Gwilym Walker kick boxing and World Champion....

Last weekend, Gwilym Walker (33) from Derby, a Recruitment Consultant at Syntax Consultancy, in the Technical Engineering Recruitment team, competed in the 15th German International "Battle of the Hunsruck" The final was held in Simmern, Germany.


The British Kickboxing Council (BKC) is the most influential Sport Martial Arts body in the UK, comprising of British representatives from some of the largest kickboxing and Karate Sport in the world.

There were 5 rounds, each two minutes bouts, with a minute break between.  He fought extremely well but lost out to a split decision.

Gwilym said “I am extremely grateful for all the continuing support that Syntax gives me particularly for sponsoring me for this fight and for my upcoming fights at the end of 2014”.

What’s Next?

There are no set fights as of yet but Gwilym plans to fight in Scandinavia towards the end of 2014.

Kick boxing CV:

  • Gwilym Walker won the world title at the kick boxing Championships in Holland in November 2013.
  • He began kickboxing 19 years ago, deciding to move from Yorkshire to Derbyshire.
  • He worked as a personal trainer and in customer service before moving into recruitment and joined Syntax 3 years ago – specialising in Engineering and Technical Recruitment.
