The Big Bang Fair, East Midlands. Filling the STEM talent gap.....
Last week Syntax exhibited at the Big Bang Fair at the Round House. The event saw over a thousand school children from the region attend, all keen to learn how exciting and challenging studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) subject can be.
It was a busy and fun filled day. The Syntax stand had a number of mini remote controlled helicopters for the children to fly around the Roundhouse.
We were also on hand to talk to parents and teachers about how we can help children be prepared for the world of work by using some of our help guides on CV writing, interview techniques, filling in application forms, typical career paths, and much more.
Laura Smit, Manager of our Engineering Recruitment Team, said “It is essential to get children passionate and interested in STEM subjects, it is vitally important for the continued growth of the economy and our region. The children attending today could well be the Engineers of the future! “
Laura Smith and Sophia Akhtar before the Syntax helicopters caused chaos!
Syntax are extremely active in supporting Derby as being the UK’s number one high-tech city and support the city’s projects to develop the next generation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths talent.
